Prof. Polly Baker

Dr. Baker's research is in exploring the design and application of highly interactive multimedia environments for data visualization and information exploration. Her research combines her academic training in Psychology, Education, and Computer Science. Prior to joining Indiana's Pervasive Technology initiative, Polly spent many years at the National Center for Supercomputing Applications (NCSA) at the University of Illinois, where she worked with scientists to define and develop custom solutions for advanced visualization problems, both for the desktop and virtual reality. Dr. Baker is the author of several widely used texts in computer graphics.

Jennifer Browning

Jennifer brings substantial experience in communications and business development. Her earlier work includes desktop publishing of technical manuals and marketing materials, video production for sales and training, report preparation, and project management in a manufacturing industry. She also has experience as the director of business development and marketing for a consortium of Indiana machine shops.

Chris Basham

Chris Basham is pursuing a degree in Media Arts and Sciences from IUPUI. An award-winning web programmer, Chris plans to work in New Media when he graduates in May of 2009. Chris honed his design and programming skills by volunteering to produce IT projects for his high school and church in Evansville, Indiana. When not coding, Chris loves playing Wii, quoting movies, reading graphic novels, devouring blueberry muffins, joining random Ultimate Frisbee games, and relaxing with a session of Disc golf.

Jim Lyst

Jim is a graduate student in Human-Computer Interaction in the School of Informatics. In an earlier life, Jim worked as a product engineer with Thompson Electronics. Jim is also a graduate of the IUPUI School of Education Transition to Teaching program, and taught math at Herron High School, a charter school in downtown Indianapolis. Jim's current work explores the application of multi-touch table interfaces to interactive environments for learning math and physics.

Pascal Olame

Pascal Olame is a student with the IU School of Informatics at IUPUI. He is majoring in New Media (Video and Sound Production), and pursuing a minor in Computer Science. His interests include computer music composition, graphics and video and composition, playing acoustic and bass guitar as well as weight-lifting. Pascal is originally from the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Todd Shelton

Todd is a graduate student in the IUPUI Media Arts and Science program. He also works full-time with the Basement, an Indianapolis media development group. Todd has also spent time in the armed forces and at General Motors Corporation. While in the National Guard, Todd was stationed in Korea where he performed IT system administration and support services. Previously, he was employed for nearly a decade at General Motors Corporation in Anderson. Todd completed his BS degree in New Media in 2008. He enjoys working out and sports, especially football.

Mansoor Siddeeq

Mansoor is a New Media student at IUPUI and recipient of the Dean's scholarship. He is member of the Louis Stokes Alliances for Minority Participation program. Mansoor enjoys web design and computer programming. He is married and recently welcomed a new son into his family.

Ginger White

Ginger, a New Media student at IUPUI, is a McNair scholar, a Student Support Services scholar, and member of the Diversity scholar research program. She is a student mentor and a member of the National Dean's List, Alpha Lambda Delta Honor Society and Golden Key Honor Society. In addition to her New Media studies, Ginger is pursuing a minor in Computer Science. She plans to attend graduate school to study Human-Computer Interaction.
